I introduce to you the Big Red Pig. A 2013 Honda XR650L that I bought with only 1,600kms (1,000 miles). The bike is 100% stock(for now) with the exception of an Acerbis 5.8 gallon extended range tank (stock tank is also included). This was a nice bonus since I was planing to get this tank in the future anyway so that saved me almost $500 bucks canadian by not having to buy it.
A good friend of mine came with me to get it. We drove my car there then I rode the bike back and he drove my car. We left my house at noon and we got back home just after 7pm. It was a 450kms (280 mile) round trip. And I rode half of it 225kms (140 miles) on the bike in a freaking monsoon. Lets just say I was more than a little damp by the time I reached home. It was a good way to get to know the bike.

Didn’t you get this thing crazy cheap too? Any good trails around your house or does it have to go into the truck to get to anything fun?
Also, it’s kinda funny that the one mod the guy did to the bike was a larger fuel tank and based on the mileage almost couldn’t have possibly needed it.

So...um...how do you reach the ground? It looks as though your feet would be a few inches from the ground when you sit on it.

Yeah it was a tricky ride home. I plan in internally lowering the suspension to make it more suited for me. The 38" seat height does not mix well with my 26" inseam.
I could barely tippy toe one foot.

Haha...I feel that’s exactly how I would be on that bike. I would be lowering it too. Nice looking bike though and sounds like you got it for a great price.

I am so jealous I’m having to control my breathing. Ugh, what a fantastic deal. Especially considering this is Canadian money right? Did the guy say why he is selling it?

Yes canadian loonies. I bought this from an older gentleman in his mid 60's. He recently bought an cruiser so he decided to let this one go. He’s had it for sale for months with no serious offers. I showed up with a handful of crisp $100 bills so it was hard for him to say no.
Literally 1 block from my house(red arrow) the natural recreation areas start. This is all crown land where bikes and ATVs are welcome so no need to worry about trespassing. There is about 750 square kms (470 square miles) of trails to explore. It should keep me busy for a while.
